WSET Intermediate Certificate
The Wine and Spirit Education Trust Intermediate Certificate is the second level of course study in the WSET wine course program. This course is perfect for those with a good basic knowledge of wine. It is the natural progression after completing the Foundation course. However, the Foundation is not a prerequisite before starting the Intermediate.
We have a large number of general interest wine enthusiasts as well as people working in the hospitality industry and wine trade. This is a great course because there is sufficient time to go into more detail about all the major countries producing wine. In the 9 week course you will taste over 85 wines. We always showcase some of the top wines of each country.
There are two options:
- Option 1: 9 week course - 1 evening per week from 6.00-9.00 pm.
- Option 2: 3 day course - all day from 9.30 am-5.30 pm. The 3 day course is perfect for those who cannot commit to 9 evenings. The study guide is mailed to you in advance of the course.
During the course you will learn about:
- Growing grapes
- Making wine
- The art of tasting
- Food and wine matching
- The classic grape varieties
- French and German wines
- Italian, Spanish and Portuguese wines
- New world wine regions
- Sparkling and Fortified wines
