WINEMAKER’S CUT
Michal has a clear vision for the wines, picking early to emphasize freshness and lower alcohol levels. In the cellar, it’s about transparency: indigenous yeasts, little new oak, and low levels of sulphites. The result is light, delicate wines with an Old World sensibility, which are incredibly versatile at the dinner table. These wines are typically found in top restaurants throughout British Columbia, and sell out quickly. But over the past year, Michal has been quick to adapt and has made the wines available directly to consumers. At least for the time being. So, don’t wait to try his critically acclaimed wines through this exclusive six-pack, featuring four whites and two reds.
HERE’S WHAT ‘S IN YOUR MIXED 6 PACK:
This is a zesty style of Sauvignon Blanc with bright grapefruit and grassy notes that are true to the variety. It’s crisp and refreshing, with a subtle effervescent spritz, and clocks in at just 12% abv. A perfect aperitif wine, especially alongside a serving of briny east coast oysters.
2019 Gruner Veltliner | $22.52
Gruner Veltliner is slowly beginning to make its mark in the Okanagan, though the style varies widely. This is a leaner style that’s quite successfully modelled after the Federspiel wines of the Wachau. It’s varietally expressive, with grapefruit pith and white pepper, which is no easy feat. Even better: it’s light, vibrant, and food friendly with bright acidity and only 11.5% abv.
2019 Muscat Canelli | $20.78
This is a pure, floral scented Muscat done in a slightly effervescent style. It smells like an Okanagan summer: aromatic blossoms, juicy stone fruits, and just a pinch of sweetness to make it almost too easy to reach for a second glass. This is a perfect brunch wine for the holidays; light, fresh, and only 11.5% abv.
2019 Syrah | $29.48
Are we ready to declare Syrah as the red grape of the Okanagan yet? This is a lovely, perfumed version combining florals and spice, with bright red fruits and a deft touch of oak. Serve with a light chill and break out the cheese and charcuterie.
2019 Bohemian Blanc | $24.26
Bohemian is Winemaker’s CUT’s tier of single vineyard blends. This is a traditional white Bordeaux blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, which is quite restrained with juicy citrus fruits and just a hint of peach. Six months in Slovakian oak has given this some added flesh and richness, making it an excellent winter white. Still youthful, you could also tuck this away and revisit in 1-2 years.
2019 Bohemian Rouge | $31.22
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, this is a different style of Bordeaux blend than you’re accustomed to tasting from the Okanagan. It’s fresh and juicy, with just a subtle dusting of oak spice, and silky, soft tannins. It’s a serious wine, and one that’s already drinking well now. It will be perfect for roasts over the holidays.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Winemaker’s CUT
“Originally from Slovakia, my wife and I, we packed our passion for wine and with our knowledge and experience and we readied ourselves for new opportunities and new experiences.
After years behind the scenes as the winemaker for a number of labels we made the commitment, my wife and I, to create our dream: the Winemaker`s CUT, producing wines that were true to us, true to what we love and producing wines that honoured our beliefs in playing classical music in our vineyard and cellar, naturally farmed vineyards and our expectations of quality through traditional harvesting and winemaking methods.
Winemaker’s CUT meant a host of things to us subjectively. It spoke to finally stepping from behind the scenes and making our dream a reality. It was a piece of us, and our opportunity to capture and share a moment exactly as we saw it. It was the opportunity to make the calls for ourselves, like a director’s cut, to share our unique point of view – our styling and blending of an Okanagan wine.”
– Winemaker Michael Mosny
