CANADIAN WINE 101
Our Canadian Wine 101 course covers all the major wine regions in Canada, and the minor ones too. You will taste the benchmark Canadian wines as you learn about each region, including a broad spectrum of different varietals. It’s a fascinating experience.
Immediately upon registration you will receive a 40 page booklet all about Canadian wine. This booklet was written by David Lawrason, the leading expert on Canadian wine and a 50 year veteran of the industry. There are interesting maps, and an in-depth explanation of the regions, wines, and producers. Reading this booklet before the course is useful, but the pre-course reading is not required. This is a fun day out tasting and learning, and there is no exam.
At the course you will taste 19 wines, each of them considered to be a classic example of its type. Our expert instructors will guide you through the tastings, they will give you insight into this brilliant country’s wines, adding stories and anecdotes from personal experience. Our classes are limited to 24 wine lovers, and they are always delivered in a warm and friendly atmosphere in a comfortable venue. It’s the Fine Vintage difference.

TASTINGS & INSTRUCTION
During the 1-day course you will taste 16 benchmark examples of wines from the leading producers in a wide variety of styles. You will taste wines from the key Ontario and BC appellations as well as those from Nova Scotia and Quebec.
A select handful of our instructors teach this course, including Canada’s leading expert. They have in-depth knowledge and experience in Canadian wine. Our extensive study guide is updated annually and is the reference text for the country.
CERTIFICATION
There is no exam or certificate for this course. Just a fun day learning about and tasting benchmark examples of Canadian wine!
You will, however, be provided with a 40-page PDF booklet at registration that summarizes the course material. You can read this comprehensive text before the course if you like and can keep it handy for future reference.
