FRENCH WINE 101

There are many great wine producing countries in the world, but France remains the benchmark. At this fascinating course you will taste your way through Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Rhone & Loire Valleys, Alsace and more. We pour 16 beautiful wines, and guide you through the tastings.

Immediately upon registration you will receive a 40 page booklet all about French wine. This booklet was written by Masters of Wine. There are interesting maps, and an in-depth explanation of the regions, wines, and producers. Reading this booklet before the course is useful, but the pre-course reading is not required. This is a fun day out tasting and learning, and there is no exam.

The complexities of France are explained by our expert instructors, who bring the day to life with their personal stories. Our classes are limited to 24 wine lovers, and they are always delivered in a warm and friendly atmosphere in a comfortable venue. It’s the Fine Vintage difference.

The course is open to all wine lovers, with no pre-requisites nor expectations of any prior knowledge. Come and join us!

I was always so confused by all the different wine regions, grapes, and labels in France but I love French wines. This course made sense of it all and taught me the about the most important wines and we tasted some amazing ones! I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in France and it is especially useful if you are about to do the WSET level 3.
