ITALIAN WINE 101
This course is an inspiring journey through the classic wine regions of Italy. You will taste 16 benchmark wines that exemplify the great diversity of Italian wine. Stunning Barolo, Amarone, Chianti Classico, Brunello and Super Tuscans are just the start of your tasting extravaganza. Each of the main wine-producing regions are showcased as well as the local grape varieties and styles.
Immediately upon registration you will receive a 40 page booklet all about Italian wine. There are interesting maps, and an in-depth explanation of the regions, wines, and producers. Reading this booklet before the course is useful, but the pre-course reading is not required. This is a fun day out tasting and learning, and there is no exam.
By the end of the course you will be able to select great bottles of Italian wine in restaurants and wine shops. Our expert instructors will explain the complexities of this phenomenal wine producing country, bringing the day to life with their personal stories as they guide you through the tastings and presentation.

During the 1 day course you will taste 16 benchmark examples of wines from the leading producers in a wide variety of regions. We pride ourselves on showing classic wines.
Our instructors have spent considerable time touring the great regions across Italy and are experts in the field. Our extensive study guide is updated annually and is an extremely useful summary of a complex wine country.
CERTIFICATION
There is no exam or certificate for this course. Just a fun day of learning all about Italian wines!
You will, however, be provided with a 30-page PDF booklet at registration that summarizes the course material. You can read this comprehensive text before the course if you like and can keep it handy for future reference.
