Dan is a WSET Diploma graduate and in addition holds the Certified Specialist of Wine and Certified Specialist of Spirits from the Society of Wine Educators. Dan is an ardent wine fan, enthusiastically pursuing wine travel, education and tasting experiences. His passion for wine has driven travel through many great wine regions of the world, including several Fine Vintage tours creating unforgettable memories and learning opportunities!

Born and raised in Edmonton, Cheata actually began her career in the wine industry 15 years ago when the Kitsilano Wine Cellar in Vancouver hired her as novice sales associate! After her first sip of Premier Cru Burgundy she was hooked and quickly worked her way up to becoming the BC Buyer and Assistant Manager.

After the Kitsilano Wine Cellar Cheata moved back to Edmonton to open and manage Everything Wine and More in Sherwood Park for 6 years. It was here where Cheata began teaching WSET courses and fell in love with instructing. One more call to BC found Cheata managing the tasting room at Black Hills Estate Winery, home to the famed Nota Bene in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

Today, you can find Cheata helping wine enthusiasts choose that perfect bottle of wine as the General Manager at Vine Arts Wine & Spirits or in her kitchen working on the first Canadian published Cambodian cookbook.

David has been with Fine Vintage since 2012 and came to us with fifteen years of experience as an educator. He has studied at the Master of Wine level, helped build wineries and create brands, and visited the vast majority of the world’s wine regions. He is one of the leading educators in Canada.

After living in Japan and New Zealand for eight years working in restaurants, retail, and wineries, David returned to Canada in 2005 to pursue his WSET studies.

He went on to complete the Level 4 Diploma and was accepted into the Masters of Wine programme in 2014. His travels have taken him throughout South America, Australia, South Africa, North America, and a number of European wine regions. He has also taught at our WSET schools in several cities and even lived in Qatar and China teaching about wine.

His contagious enthusiasm and entertaining sense of humour makes learning fun. He always gets some of our best exam results and reviews.
